Filante SL: Refined Carbon Technology for Speed

In the course of evolution, only the most precisely calibrated alterations lead to advancement. It is not physical strength or intellectual prowess that truly defines success, but rather the capacity to adapt to change.

The Filante SL takes its form, its lines, and its racing character from the Filante SLR, Wilier's top-tier aerodynamic racing bicycle utilized by professional athletes in the most prestigious World Tour events. The beneficial change is achieved through the implementation of a small selection of straightforward technical solutions. The varied carbon fiber layering employed in the frame construction results in a less extreme and more compliant structure when compared to the SLR version. This is accomplished with a marginal weight increase of just under 150 grams for a frame of the same dimensions.

World Tour aerodynamics and design

The carbon fibre is used in a frame that mirrors the shape of the Filante SLR used by the professional cyclists of Groupama - FDJ Cycling Team. What changes is the frame module, using different fabrics made of composite material to create a new lamination. Though the substance may change, the aerodynamic performance does not.

Six frame sizes, glossy finish

The Filante SL echoes the racing geometries of its big sister, the SLR. Six available frame sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL. Five available colours with glossy finish.

Smart integration

No visible cables. The monocoque handlebar allows the allure of the Filante product range to remain unchanged.A technical choice that makes possible to contain the price without compromising the performance and the possibility to easily personalise the setup.

SL philosophy

In addition to expanding the product range, the goal of each SL series bike is to provide the best quality/price/performance ratio. The use of technologies and setups that are less extreme aims to preserve the overall quality of each product. Did we succeed? You be the judge.

Improve your riding position with accu-fit

Correct positioning in the saddle is one of the most essential issues for cyclists, especially for competitors and long-distance cyclists. While with steel bikes, it was relatively easy to measure the length of the tubes, as the years passed, and with the introduction of sloping top tubes, defining measurements has become increasingly complex. So, in addition to the classic values of height, length and angles, we now consider reach & stack data and horizontal and vertical distance values between the centre of the bottom bracket and the centre of the upper part of the head tube.

But modern bicycles have made measurement even more complex, since they are complete and complex systems based on the combination of the frame, handlebar spacers and monocoque handlebars. When buying a bike, it is essential to know the size of every bike element based on your body size and shape. As manufacturers of frames and monocoque handlebars, we have added a new value to the measurement of the frame which combines the length of the head tube and the dimensions of the monocoque handlebar.

This coordinate, called ACCU-FIT, determines the distance between the bottom bracket's center and the handlebar's center. It is clear that for every model there are as many coordinates as frame sizes multiplied by the number of handlebar sizes and the configuration of spacers.
